The 80 10 10 Diet by Dr. Douglas Graham is another version of a diet which excludes consumption of fats. The diet is based on the use of fresh fruits and vegetables. Such a diet combined with exercise, quickly bring the desired result.
Doctor Graham claims that ideal balance of nutrients for good health – is 80% carbohydrate, 10% protein and 10% fat, hence the name of the diet. Graham also advised to consume about a pound Green-products, such as lettuce, spinach and celery. Fruits are rich in fat such as avocados and nuts in the diet is usually served in a limited number of small portions every two days or less.
The main source of calories in similar diets with low fat content are starchy foods such as rice, bread and potatoes.
Sample Diet Plan
Breakfast:
1.5 kilograms of melons
Lunch:
0.5 kilograms of of bananas;
0.5 kilograms of mangoes;
Dinner
Course 1
0.5 kilograms of apricots;
Course 2
Vegetable soup with tomato pepper
(200 grams of salad – lettuce (you can replace the usual bright green leaves)
200 grams of tomatoes, 200 grams of orange or yellow pepper, a sprig of parsley)
Course 3
Avocado Salad
(200 grams of lettuce, cucumber 200 grams, 350 grams of fresh tomatoes, 150 grams of avocados 1/4 cup cilantro)
Exercise
An important aspect of the program are the daily exercise. Dr. Douglas Graham advises do aerobics every day and strength training three times a week. Note that if you do not do regularly, then you do not follow the program, and in this case – you cannot wait for the results.
